Hyundai Motor Company was simultaneously selected as the 'Manufacturer of the Year' and 'Car of the Year' by the leading British automotive media outlet, Top Gear.

BBC's Top Gear Magazine in the UK announced Hyundai Motor Company and the 'i20 N' as the Manufacturer of the Year and Car of the Year respectively at the '2021 Top Gear Magazine Award' held on the 30th (local time). BBC Top Gear Magazine, founded in 1993, is one of the UK's four major automotive magazines, providing new car and competitor model comparison evaluations, test drives, and vehicle purchase information for general consumers.
Hyundai Motor Company was named Manufacturer of the Year again after three years since being selected as Top Gear's Manufacturer of the Year in 2018. This year, Hyundai was highly evaluated for offering customers attractive cars through technological growth and a diverse and challenging product lineup, including ▲the performance of high-performance hatchbacks i30 N and i20 N ▲the versatility combining practicality and driving pleasure of the high-performance crossover utility vehicle (CUV) Kona N ▲the advanced technology of the hydrogen electric vehicle Nexo ▲and the innovation of the dedicated electric vehicle Ioniq 5.
The i20 N was recognized as the car with the best driving dynamics and driving pleasure in the Car of the Year category, which undergoes driving tests and strict evaluations by Top Gear's expert judging panel. On the 3rd of last month, at the Top Gear Speed Week, the i20 N was selected as the winning model, beating a total of 24 competing models including the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, BMW M5 CS, Porsche 911 GT3, and Audi RS e-tron GT, by showcasing dynamic handling and balanced driving capabilities.
A Top Gear official stated, "The i20 N, which demonstrated stable and fun driving performance both on race tracks and regular roads, is the car that best fits the Car of the Year."
