[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, canceled all scheduled events on the 30th, while Jeon Yeo-ok, former Saenuri Party (the predecessor of the People Power Party) lawmaker, criticized him by calling him a "gwanchong" (attention seeker), saying, "The way to deal with him is to just leave him alone. Don't use SNS and take a good rest."

Jeon posted on her Facebook that day, "We, who have longed for regime change and endured quietly, now say 'this is the limit.' He announced that he will not perform any official duties, so why is he still holding the party leader position without doing any work?"

She targeted Lee, claiming, "All he has done so far is to backstab Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party presidential candidate, through SNS and various broadcasts."

Earlier, Lee posted short messages on his Facebook the previous afternoon, saying, "Then this is it," and "^_^p" consecutively. He then suddenly canceled all scheduled events and reportedly went off the grid with his phone turned off.

Regarding this, Jeon said, "That emoticon is said to mean mockery and warning in the West, so who exactly was it directed at? It certainly wasn't Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate with four prior convictions; isn't it an internal attack?" The emoticon Jeon referred to is '^_^q,' which Lee used the day before. It is interpreted as the opposite of '^_^b,' which shows a thumbs-up.

She also wrote, "Lee and the candidate share a common trait: the words apology, reflection, and sacrifice do not exist in their vocabulary," adding, "At this critical time, they shattered the expectations of the 2030 generation and set fire to the hard work of the people who long for regime change."

Jeon urged Lee, "Do nothing and stay quiet. The party will be more comfortable, and Candidate Yoon won't be bothered. That will ease the worries of the people," and added, "Please keep your promise not to appear anymore. People will soon forget you. You don't need to make any major decisions, just take a good rest."

Meanwhile, the controversy over Lee being 'passed over' arose during the formation of the party's election committee. Candidate Yoon recently recruited Professor Lee Soo-jung of Kyonggi University’s Department of Criminal Psychology, whom Lee opposed, as a co-chair of the election committee. Professor Lee had previously criticized Lee, saying, "He seems to confuse feminism with radicalism."

Additionally, Lee publicly expressed displeasure the day before, saying he was not informed in advance about Yoon's 3-day, 2-night visit to the Chungcheong region.
