[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced that the Kimchi-making relay, which had been underway since the 25th, successfully concluded on the 30th with the volunteer group at Palma Indoor Gymnasium as the final zone.

The Suncheon-style volunteer movement "Together Kim-chi-!", started to share kimchi with neighbors in need, gathered a total of 120 million KRW in donations and saw 1,447 volunteers participate in the relay, making 15 tons of kimchi over four days, thanks to the enthusiastic response of Suncheon citizens.

The relay began on the 25th at the outdoor event space of NC Suncheon Store, promoted together with NC Suncheon Store and E-Land Foundation executives and employees.

The kimchi made that day was distributed to each eup, myeon, and dong (township and neighborhood) and delivered to 100 neighbors in need.

During the relay period, 24 eup, myeon, and dong sequentially held relay events at their respective promotion bases, where a total of 847 volunteers made 10 tons of kimchi and delivered it to neighbors in need.

The warm procession of sharing and volunteering concluded on the 30th at Palma Indoor Gymnasium with about 400 volunteers.

Volunteers who had completed COVID-19 vaccinations fully participated, making 3.2 tons of kimchi under strict quarantine rules, which was then delivered to 28 social welfare institutions via a drive-through method.

The event included video screenings and side events featuring episodes from the seasonal volunteer movements carried out so far, sharing touching moments with volunteers who have participated in the volunteer movement every season.

In addition to volunteers who directly participated in the kimchi-making relay, many volunteers joined at individual promotion sites during the relay period.

The Love Meal Truck operated by the Suncheon Volunteer Center, supported by IBK Industrial Bank and the Hope Railroad Foundation, participated in the kimchi relay and delivered kimchi to about 350 households.

Additionally, the Saesimo Volunteer Club, International Lions Club, and the Suncheon Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association also joined the kimchi relay.

The Suncheon-style volunteer movement "Together Kim-chi-!", carried out over a month, extended warm hands to neighbors in need through sharing and volunteering, while promoting income increases for local farms and businesses by bulk purchasing local products, creating an indirect employment effect for more than 600 people.
