NS Home Shopping Prevents Sale of Uncertified and Hazardous Products in Advance

Check Quality Certification by Integrating with Open API Provided by National Institute of Technology and Standards

NS Home Shopping Prevents Sale of Uncertified and Hazardous Products in Advance NS Home Shopping attended the panel discussion as the representative of the Shopping Mall Distribution Division at the "Product Safety Information Utilization Open Forum" held on the 18th of this month, presenting an excellent case of the "Hazardous Product Sales Blocking System."

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] NS Home Shopping announced on the 30th that it has established a 'Hazardous Product Sales Blocking System' based on product safety information provided by the National Institute of Technology and Standards.

The Hazardous Product Sales Blocking System is a system that monitors certification status in real-time through linkage with the National Institute of Technology and Standards' open API, and automatically blocks the registration of uncertified, expired, recalled, or mislabeled products.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, as the distribution market has shifted to mobile-centered non-face-to-face consumption, concerns have grown that hazardous products could be distributed based on unilateral product information from manufacturers and sellers. In response, NS Home Shopping has established a quality prevention system to secure customer trust by requiring product certification information to be entered when registering products since the second half of last year, and sales are only possible if this information matches the open API.

The product safety information provided by the National Institute of Technology and Standards includes data such as photos, certification, and recall status for about 700,000 products including home appliances, leisure goods, and toys, enabling NS Home Shopping to quickly and effectively verify quality certification based on this information.

Yoo Dae-hee, head of the QA2 team at NS Home Shopping, said, "By simplifying the product registration verification process through the Hazardous Product Sales Blocking System, we expect to reduce work time and allocate resources to product inspection, thereby enhancing quality management capabilities."
