[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] On the 30th, Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, held a welcoming event for Jo Dong-yeon, a professor at Seokyeong University, who was recruited as a co-chairman of the joint election campaign committee at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.


Chairman Jo, born in 1982, graduated from the 60th class of the Korea Military Academy in 2004, earned a master's degree in Asia-Pacific Regional Studies from Kyung Hee University, and obtained a master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School.


Jo Dong-yeon, an assistant professor in the Department of Military Studies at Seokyeong University and a "working mom in her 30s," who was appointed as co-chairman of the Democratic Party's joint election campaign committee, stated on the 30th, "I chose candidate Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party because I believe that in a diversified society, a predictable and consistent party and leader are necessary."
