YJM Games "Affiliate Wonimals Becomes Subsidiary of Studio Bombus... Full-Scale Metaverse Launch"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] YJM Games announced on the 30th that its affiliate One Immers has acquired 100% of the shares of Bombus, the No. 1 domestic graphic studio, and incorporated it as a subsidiary to fully launch its metaverse business.


With this acquisition, One Immers plans to focus on graphic production, game content development, and metaverse businesses.


One Immers, which has played a leading role in the VR industry since 2016, plans to expand synergies in its ongoing metaverse business by acquiring Bombus, the largest domestic graphic studio, securing full-level graphic production capabilities.


Based on Bombus's strength in graphic design, the company plans to actively collaborate with major game companies and platform operators in the future and expand its metaverse business model encompassing all areas such as content business.


Founded in 2018, Bombus is the largest graphic production studio in Korea, employing about 260 professionals. Recognized for its graphic technology by global game companies, it is collaborating with major domestic and international clients and providing services tailored to various graphic needs such as hand painting, realistic characters, and background work through overseas base studios.


One Immers, an affiliate of YJM Games, is the largest VR developer in Korea with experience in servicing 10 types of self-developed content across more than 200 stations in 10 countries worldwide. It has export experience of VR content to North America, China, Europe, and has secured numerous partners. The company plans to combine One Immers' existing infrastructure and strengths with Bombus to actively develop new businesses targeting the global market.


Min Yong-jae, Chairman of YJM Games, stated, “We expect great business synergy between One Immers, the largest domestic VR developer, and Bombus, the largest domestic graphic production company, through this acquisition,” and added, “Through strategic collaboration between the two companies, we will secure a leading position in the next-generation game market, including metaverse and P2E games.”
