Kyochon Chicken Recognized for 20 Years of Local Child Support... Receives 'Gyeonggi Province Governor's Commendation'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kyochon F&B, the operator of Kyochon Chicken, received the ‘Gyeonggi Province Governor’s Commendation’ from Gyeonggi Province on the 30th.

Kyochon was recognized for its contributions to activating partnership projects such as sponsoring children and spreading a culture of sharing within the Gyeonggi Province area, earning this commendation. For the past 20 years since 2002, Kyochon has supported children in Gyeonggi Province to establish a stable foundation for their lives through various sponsorship projects in collaboration with the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, aimed at ensuring children’s happy lives and proper growth.

Kyochon has worked to help children design happy lives through the ‘Support Project for Children Aging Out of Care,’ which raises funds for youth preparing for independence after leaving care at age 18. It has also established various sponsorship projects such as the ‘Food Kit Support Project’ for children needing assistance during school vacations and home-stay periods.

Through the annual Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) tournament ‘Kyochon Honey Ladies Open,’ Kyochon has also carried out the ‘Sports Dream Tree Support Project,’ which supports talented athletes from underprivileged families with funds raised. In addition, Kyochon has continuously organized various social contribution activities for children and adolescents in the Gyeonggi Province area.

A Kyochon F&B official said, “This commendation is a meaningful award that makes us feel the worth of the social contribution projects Kyochon has carried out over the past 20 years,” adding, “We will take this opportunity to further strive to create happy lives for children and adolescents nationwide, and furthermore for neighbors in local communities, through more diverse support activities.”
