[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation concluded that there were no issues with any of the questions after reviewing the objections to the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) questions.
On the 29th, the institute finalized and announced the 2022 CSAT answers and judged that there were "no problems with the questions or answers" for the 76 questions that were actually subject to review among those that received objections.
After reviewing the objections submitted from the 18th to the 22nd, the institute received 1,014 cases. Among these, 541 cases were unrelated to question errors or answer confirmation or were duplicate contents, and 473 cases were actual subjects for review.
The institute, through the Objection Review Working Committee, which included external experts not involved in the test creation, and the final deliberation by the Objection Review Committee, judged that there were no issues with all 76 questions.
The most controversial question, Life Science II question 20, was also confirmed to maintain answer choice 5 as correct. The correct answer rate for question 20 was approximately 24.6% based on EBS statistics.
Regarding this question, examinees and the admissions industry raised objections, stating that "since there is no group that can simultaneously satisfy the conditions presented in the question, the question is flawed and should be marked correct for all."
In response, the institute stated, "Even if the conditions of this question are not complete, it was judged that the validity as an evaluation question to differentiate academic achievement levels based on the curriculum achievement standards is maintained."
The institute sought advisory opinions from related academic societies and numerous external experts, and after the Objection Review Working Committee comprehensively reviewed the opinions, the Objection Review Committee made the final deliberation.
Other questions that received objections include Korean language questions 4, 8, 10, 11, 21, 22, 23, and 26; Speech and Writing questions 39, 40, and 45; Language and Media questions 38, 42, and 45. In mathematics, objections were received for questions 20, 21, and Calculus question 30. In English, objections were received for questions 21, 34, 38, and 41.
