Truewin Attends Launch Ceremony of Daejeon K-Sensor Valley Development

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Sensor company Truewin attended the 'K-Sensor Valley Establishment Launch Ceremony' held in Daejeon on the 29th.

The launch ceremony held that day was attended by about 100 people, including Daejeon Mayor Heo Tae-jung and National Assembly member Park Young-soon. Under the slogan "Advanced Sensor Industry Hub City Daejeon," the future strategy and vision proclamation of K-Sensor Valley took place. The founding ceremony included participation from K-Sensor leading technology company Truewin, the recently established joint venture Hanwha Intelligence between Hanwha Systems and Truewin, as well as other sensor listed companies representing Daejeon.

Truewin is gaining attention as a company that will lead the K-Sensor cluster centered around K-Sensor Valley. The company anticipates explosive growth in sensor demand due to market changes related to electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, smart factories, IoT, and healthcare. Truewin plans to strengthen its competitiveness by securing core technologies and gradually expand its market spectrum with differentiated sensor technologies, ultimately realizing the localization of advanced sensors.

Nam Yong-hyun, CEO of Truewin and former chairman of the Korea Sensor Industry Association, stated, "The status of Korean companies in the global sensor market is still inferior," and added, "We will develop into a system semiconductor sensor specialized company pioneering the global market with indigenous core technologies."

Meanwhile, system semiconductor sensor specialized company Truewin reported Q3 sales and operating profit of 15.6 billion KRW and 7.8 billion KRW, respectively, marking increases of 37% and 1365.4% compared to the same period last year. This is the company's highest performance. Operating profit has surpassed last year's annual level. The company plans to accelerate its infrared thermal imaging module business after recently completing GMP certification and will proceed with full-scale sales and marketing. Following the joint venture contract with Hanwha Systems, the outlook for Q4 is also bright, and the company is expected to achieve favorable results this year.
