[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 29th, Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced that young farmers from Geochang received the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award, the highest prize, at the '2040 Generation Farmer Step-up Technical Education Performance Sharing Competition.'

The award recipients are seven young apple farmers from Geochang, including Apple Meister Kim Byung-chul, Lee Sang-ho, Oh Chang-hoon, Lee Sang-jun, Lee Hyun-bae, Lim Jin-young, and Jung Soo-young. They formed the 'Miraeple (Mirae + Apple)' team and work together.

Miraeple cultivates apples, a specialty product of the Geochang region, under the guidance of the Apple Meister, researches professional cultivation techniques together, and shares their achievements with the local community.

They have been working to develop specialized apple cultivation techniques through Meister technical education, expert invitation training, on-site guidance visits, and learning organization activities.

In particular, they have conducted customized on-site training to improve item-specific specialized skills and problem-solving abilities, thereby enhancing their expertise.

Meister Kim Byung-chul said, "Through a year of education and activities together, the young farmers have acquired skills comparable to those of a Meister," adding, "The efforts of young people seeking the future in rural areas will bring new vitality to the development of apples and the region in Geochang."

Lee Byung-joo, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "We will spare no support in nurturing young farmers who will lead local agriculture," and urged, "In the face of an aging rural reality, please work together with the older generation to contribute to the agricultural development of Geochang County."
