Samyang Foods Launches 'Lovely Hot Buldak Bokkeummyeon' for Spicy Food Beginners

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Samyang Foods announced on the 29th that it will launch a new product in the Buldak brand, 'Lovely Hot Buldak Bokkeummyeon.'

'Lovely Hot Buldak Bokkeummyeon' was developed targeting consumers who cannot eat the original Buldak Bokkeummyeon because it is too spicy. Its spiciness level is about half that of the original Buldak Bokkeummyeon. Lovely Hot Buldak Bokkeummyeon is even less spicy than the recently released mild-spicy products, 4 Cheese Buldak Bokkeummyeon and Rose Buldak Bokkeummyeon.

Meanwhile, Samyang Foods has introduced a new spiciness scale called BFL (Buldak Fire Level) instead of the Scoville scale to indicate the level of spiciness.

BFL classifies the spiciness of Buldak brand products into five levels and expresses the spiciness through a flame gauge and changes in the expression of the character Hochi, allowing consumers to easily check the spiciness of the product and choose according to their preference.

The new product Lovely Hot Buldak Bokkeummyeon package is labeled with BFL1, the original Buldak Bokkeummyeon with BFL4, and the spiciest Nuclear Buldak Bokkeummyeon with BFL5.
