[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The police will additionally supply mid-sized patrol cars with enhanced safety and performance, as well as eco-friendly hydrogen electric patrol cars, to replace aging patrol cars that have reached the replacement criteria.

The National Police Agency announced on the 29th that it will newly supply 482 mid-sized patrol cars and 19 eco-friendly patrol cars.

After completing the supply of the first batch of 300 vehicles, the police will supply an additional 482 vehicles, replacing a total of 782 vehicles this year. In particular, the number of patrol cars has increased by 120, and they have been allocated to each provincial police agency considering comprehensive factors such as security demand, jurisdiction population, and temporary duty personnel.

Additionally, the police will expand the supply of eco-friendly hydrogen electric patrol cars (Nexo). The police explained that after gathering public opinion from four pilot operation stations last year, there were positive responses such as low noise. The eco-friendly hydrogen electric patrol cars can travel up to 609 km on a single charge and apply the same convenience and safety specifications as the mid-sized patrol cars.
