Disney+ Trial Customers Donate 1,000 KRW Each in Sharing Campaign
Experience Zone for Disney+ Operated at 'Ilsangbi Ilsangui Teum'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 29th that it will conduct a sharing campaign where donations are accumulated for children with intractable diseases when experiencing the global online video service (OTT) ‘Disney Plus (Disney+).
This sharing campaign is held at the complex cultural space ‘Ilsangbi Ilsang-ui Teum’ located on Gangnam-daero, Seoul. Teum operates an experience zone where customers can enjoy various popular contents such as Frozen, Toy Story, Avengers, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Avatar in partnership with Disney+.
Customers who visit the experience zone on the first floor of Ilsangbi Ilsang-ui Teum and experience Disney+ through U+tv and mobile can receive a donation sticker, and customers who receive the sticker can participate in sharing by pressing the donation button inside the experience zone. Each press of the button is converted to a donation of 1,000 KRW.
The sharing campaign aims for a total participation of 10,000 people and will continue until the end of the year, with early termination expected upon reaching the goal. The donations will be delivered to the ‘Make a Wish Foundation,’ an organization that fulfills wishes for children with intractable diseases. The Make a Wish Foundation plans to use the donations to fulfill the wishes of children with intractable diseases during the year-end season.
Jongmin Lee, head of the CSR team at LG Uplus, said, “To spread a warm sharing culture during the year-end and New Year holidays, we prepared an activity linking experience and sharing together with Disney+,” adding, “We will continue to promote various sharing activities and strive to create a society where marginalized groups, including children with intractable diseases, live together.”
Ilsangbi Ilsang-ui Teum offers various experiences under the theme of ‘A Gift-like Time,’ proposing a unique way to experience Disney+. The first-floor experience zone consists of ▲a mobile zone with nature as the background ▲a seamless zone where videos watched on mobile naturally connect to U+tv with space as the background ▲a quiz zone exploring infinite Disney+ content through a remote control shortcut button. An event is also held where participants can receive various goods such as Disney stickers by participating in various activities through the Ilsangbi Ilsang-ui Teum exclusive application.
At the Disney goods shop on the second floor, more than 300 types of authentic Disney goods can be purchased. LG Uplus customers can receive a 20% discount (excluding some items). On the fifth floor, a consultation zone has been set up to provide tips and subscription guidance for using Disney+ at a reasonable price.
