According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments on the 26th, a total of 2,266 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported nationwide from 0:00 to 6:00 PM. This figure represents the total confirmed cases from 16 out of 17 provinces and cities, excluding Busan.
Compared to 2,024 confirmed cases reported at the same time the previous day, this is an increase of 242 cases. It is also 382 more than the 1,884 cases reported a week ago on the 19th.
Looking at the number of confirmed cases by region, 1,734 cases were reported in the metropolitan area and 532 cases in non-metropolitan areas. By city and province, Seoul had 1,005 cases, Gyeonggi 505 cases, and Incheon 224 cases, in that order. Other regions reported the following: Gyeongbuk 92 cases, Gyeongnam 78 cases, Chungnam 66 cases, Gangwon 62 cases, Daegu 60 cases, Chungbuk 35 cases, Jeonnam 32 cases, Gwangju 28 cases, Jeju 27 cases, Daejeon 23 cases, Jeonbuk 19 cases, and Sejong and Ulsan each with 5 cases.
The number of new confirmed cases to be announced at 0:00 on the 27th, after the midnight cutoff for data aggregation, is expected to increase further.
