[Asia Economy Reporters Koo Chae-eun, Jeon Jin-young] Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 26th regarding the operation of the election campaign committee, "We will have 3-term and 4-term lawmakers step back to work in the regions, and put 2-term lawmakers at the forefront to drive the process with a sense of speed." This means realizing the so-called 'senior 2-term retreat and practical election campaign committee restructuring.'

After the Supreme Council meeting held at the Yeouido party office that day, Song told reporters, "Strategy Headquarters Chief Kang Hoon-sik and Chief Spokesperson Ko Yong-jin are also 2-term lawmakers," adding, "The 2-term lawmakers will take the lead and drive the process quickly, and additional organizational work is under discussion, with the goal of concretizing it next week in close consultation with the candidate."

He pledged, "I will go down to Chungcheong Province over the weekend," and said, "The party, the election campaign committee, and the candidate will become one and respond swiftly." He also said, "Recently, candidate Lee checked legislative tasks together with floor leader Yoon Ho-jung," adding, "We will work together to achieve results in budget expansion, the law on recovering development gains, virtual currency tax deferral, and the Jeon Du-hwan confiscation law."

Song also emphasized the significance of appointing a '2-term' lawmaker as secretary-general. He explained, "It is quite unusual for the secretary-general of the ruling party to be a 2-term lawmaker," and said, "This shows the party's will for reform."
