Pulmuone Selected for the First Time Among Asia's Top 500 Brands Pulmuone is promoting its flagship products by participating for the fourth consecutive year in the International Import Expo held on the 5th in Shanghai, China.


[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Pulmuone has been selected for the first time as one of the Asia 500 Brands chosen by Asia Brand.


On the 26th, Pulmuone announced that it had been selected as one of the '2021 Asia 500 Brands' announced by Asia Brand, a prestigious brand evaluation organization in the Greater China region. Among the 500 brands selected this time, 24 are domestic brands, and only three of them are food companies, including Pulmuone.


Asia Brand, established in Hong Kong in 2005, is a brand evaluation organization that selects and announces the top 500 brands in Asia every year by assessing business performance, brand recognition, media exposure, and more.


Pulmuone was included in the top 500 brands in this Asia Brand evaluation in recognition of its business performance in China and efforts to expand brand awareness within China.


In 2010, Pulmuone established 'Fumeituo Food' in Beijing and Shanghai, China, and began targeting the Chinese market in 2011. After 10 years of entry, it succeeded in turning a profit for the first time last year.


The biggest hit product of Pulmuone's China subsidiary is ready-to-eat spaghetti. The convenience of simply heating it in a microwave to complete all cooking was a great advantage to Chinese consumers.


The popularity of tofu as a main product and frozen home meal replacements (HMR) also led sales. Recently, sustainable foods such as plant-based alternative meat snacks, dumplings, and pasta using plant-based alternative meat have also been introduced.


From the 5th to the 10th of this month, Pulmuone participated for the fourth consecutive year in the China International Import Expo held in Shanghai, continuously promoting Korean food culture and Pulmuone's representative products.


This year, more than 30 products in four categories?frozen HMR, pasta, health foods, and sustainable foods such as plant-based alternative meat?were introduced to the Chinese market.


Du Jinwoo, CEO of Fumeituo Food, said, “Being selected as one of the Asia 500 Brands is the first official recognition of Pulmuone's brand value in the Greater China region,” and added, “Pulmuone will strive not only to expand sales but also to continuously communicate with consumers in China to increase brand and product awareness.”
