[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Former Saenuri Party (predecessor of the People Power Party) lawmaker Jeon Yeo-ok criticized those who refer to former President Jeon Du-hwan as "Jeon Du-hwan-ssi," saying, "It is neither polite nor common sense for those who call 'Chairman Kim Jong-un' and 'Mrs. Ri Sol-ju' to refer to Jeon Du-hwan as 'Jeon Du-hwan-ssi.'"
On the 24th, former lawmaker Jeon posted on her Facebook, stating, "As Professor Baek Nak-cheong said, I believe 'both saints and villains should refrain from speaking in the face of death.'"

Former lawmaker Jeon said, "I personally had the opportunity to meet former presidents who had lost and ended their power. They appeared more fragile, anxious, and bewildered than ordinary people. I deeply understood what power truly is through former presidents who, like neighborhood grandfathers, wanted to chat with anyone who came seeking power," adding, "As a living person, I have decided to pray for the repose of President Jeon Du-hwan."
She continued, "I think it is neither polite nor common sense for those who call 'Chairman Kim Il-sung,' 'Chairman Kim Jong-un,' and 'Mrs. Ri Sol-ju' to refer to 'Jeon Du-hwan-ssi' and 'Lee Soon-ja' in that manner."
Furthermore, former lawmaker Jeon said, "I believe (Jeon) should be left to the judgment of history, to the evaluations of various historians," and added, "I pray for the repose of a human being who has crossed the river of death, former President Jeon Du-hwan."
