[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Gyeongsang National University Fisheries Food Industrialization Technology Support Center (RCIDS) announced on the 26th that it held a technology transfer agreement ceremony for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ fisheries food industry technology development project at Tongyeong Marine Science College, attended by joint research institutions and participating companies.
The purpose of this technology transfer is to expand the domestic fisheries food export market, which has been concentrated in Japan, to China, North America, and Southeast Asia, thereby creating an export environment that can actively respond to changes in the external environment.
There are five technologies transferred to companies: ▲ Professor Kim Jin-su (Gyeongsang National University)’s “Oyster sauce food manufacturing technology using domestic oyster shells” ▲ Professor Cho Seung-mok (Pukyong National University)’s “Kim snack manufacturing technology with improved preference and texture” ▲ Professor Choi Jae-seok (Silla University)’s “Home meal replacement abalone butter grill manufacturing technology” ▲ Principal Researcher Lee Sang-hoon (Korea Food Research Institute)’s “Room temperature distribution clam soup meal kit manufacturing technology” ▲ Professor Son Jae-hak (Silla University)’s “Abalone and oyster fusion sauce manufacturing technology.”
Kim Jin-su, director of RCIDS, said, “Based on the technologies transferred this time, companies are already proceeding with commercialization,” and added, “Despite the difficult conditions due to COVID-19, we are making various joint efforts with research institutions and participating companies to enter the target export countries.”
Meanwhile, since 2020, Gyeongsang National University RCIDS has been leading the project “Development of fisheries food for export market diversification in response to strengthened inspection measures against Japan,” supported by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Marine Science and Technology Promotion Agency.
