Gyeonggi Province announced that from midnight to 9 PM on the day, 1,026 new COVID-19 cases were added.

This is 405 more than the 621 cases recorded at the same time on the previous day, the 22nd, and is the highest number ever recorded at this time of day.

The previous record for the same time was 868 cases on the 19th, which was surpassed after four days.

Since the implementation of the 'gradual recovery to daily life,' the number of confirmed cases in the province has continued to rise.

Since the beginning of this month, the daily confirmed cases in the province have reached the 700s four times, the 800s seven times, and the 900s four times, totaling 15 days with more than 700 infections.

In the past week, daily confirmed cases have been 964 (16th) → 967 → 849 → 993 → 992 → 820 → 773 (22nd), continuing the spread with numbers in the 700 to 900 range.

Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced at 0:00 on the 24th is likely to exceed the previous record.

The highest daily count in the province was 1,102 on September 24.
