[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Water and Sewage Business Office of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 23rd that it has completed cleaning the water purification facilities of Hamyang and Seosang Water Purification Plants and 16 distribution reservoirs within the jurisdiction to provide clean and safe tap water supply.
The cleaning of water purification plants and distribution reservoirs is conducted once every half year according to the Enforcement Rules of the Water Supply Act. Through this, water facilities are always kept clean to prevent contamination of drinking water.
This cleaning focused on minimizing inconvenience to residents caused by water outages by removing internal water stains and foreign substances from the floors and walls of the purification plants and reservoirs, and carrying out repairs on parts that needed maintenance through prior inspections.
In addition, continuous facility improvements such as upgrading sedimentation facilities and water quality management are being carried out to supply clear and clean tap water, ensuring residents can drink with confidence.
Jo Young-hyun, head of the Hamyang-gun Water and Sewage Business Office, said, “We will do our best to produce and supply clear and clean tap water through water quality management, water supply facility improvements, and environmental maintenance to provide stable water supply and enhance trust among residents.”
