[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 23rd that it held a joint evaluation quantitative assessment progress report meeting on major city and county tasks, chaired by Deputy Governor Choi Young-ho.

The joint evaluation of major city and county tasks is a comprehensive assessment of the implementation performance of national key policies and provincial priority projects targeting 18 cities and counties in Gyeongsangnam-do. The 2022 evaluation consists of a total of 121 indicators, including 93 quantitative indicators and 28 qualitative indicators.

The report meeting focused on checking the progress of 93 quantitative indicators as of the end of October, analyzing problems related to ongoing indicators excluding completed ones, and seeking measures to improve performance such as weighted and collaborative indicators.

Deputy Governor Choi Young-ho said, “Although performance has improved compared to the previous year, greater attention from department heads is needed to increase the achievement rate of underperforming indicators,” and added, “In particular, I ask for long-term efforts such as adjusting the number of appointed committee members through ordinance revision to achieve the indicator for the participation rate of appointed members in city and county committees.”

The county plans to improve performance with customized strategies such as one-on-one expert consulting for qualitative indicators, thorough analysis of collaborative and weighted indicators, and a performance improvement measures report meeting for underperforming indicators, aiming to be selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years during the remaining period.
