Over 70 Teams Participating Including General, Women, Youth, Executive, and Local Divisions

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 23rd that it held the 13th Gyeongnam Governor's Cup Inter-city and County Jokgu Tournament on the 20th and 21st.
The opening ceremony was attended by County Governor Moon Jun-hee, County Council Chairman Bae Mong-hee, Provincial Assemblyman Kim Yoon-cheol, County Councilor Choi Jung-ok, Sports Association Chairman Kim Hae-eun, Gyeongsangnam-do Sports Association Chairman Kim Oh-young, Gyeongsangnam-do Jokgu Association Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, Hapcheon-gun Jokgu Association Chairman Song Ho-chil, and about 500 players and officials from city and county jokgu associations.
This tournament featured about 70 teams and 500 participants, including 16 teams in the general division, 14 teams in the 40s division, 14 teams in the 50s division, 8 teams in the 60s division, 4 teams in the women's division, 4 teams in the youth division, 6 teams in the executives division, and 4 teams in the internal affairs division, representing their regions and competing fiercely.
County Governor Moon Jun-hee said, "Jokgu is a popular sport that anyone can enjoy with just a ball and a net, and the number of enthusiasts is increasing. It is a sport that requires more unity than any other," adding, "I hope that this tournament will be an opportunity to foster friendship and camaraderie between cities and counties through respect and consideration for opposing teams based on united teamwork."
Hapcheon-gun Jokgu Association Chairman Song Ho-chil said in his greeting, "Recreational sports are like part of our daily lives," and added, "Since jokgu has been selected as a demonstration sport in the Provincial Sports Festival and the National Sports Festival, it is an exercise that goes along like a refreshing tonic in our daily lives."
