[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province (Mayor Yoo Jin-seop) announced on the 23rd that it held the ‘Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign’ at City Hall.
At the event, Mayor Yoo Jin-seop, Park Yong-hoon, Secretary General of the Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea, and other officials participated, sharing the joy of giving by pinning the ‘Fruit of Love’ on the chests of city hall employees and citizens.
The Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea presented Mayor Yoo Jin-seop with a caricature, two welfare facility support vehicles, and 16.5 million KRW for winter heating expenses for vulnerable groups in Jeongeup.
The ‘Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign,’ hosted by the Community Chest of Korea, will be held for 62 days from next month’s 1st to January 31 of next year under the theme ‘Sharing, a social vaccine for all.’
The campaign is an annual project aimed at supporting neighbors who are underprivileged or in welfare blind spots by spreading the culture of sharing and donation.
Citizens, institutions, and organizations wishing to participate in sharing can donate through the City Hall Hope Welfare Team or the donation reception offices at the town and township offices.
Donations will be used carefully to help neighbors in low-income brackets or welfare blind spots within the region, as well as vulnerable social welfare institutions and facilities in need.
Secretary General Park Yong-hoon said, “Despite the difficult times due to COVID-19, we thank everyone for participating in the Fruit of Love pinning campaign to spread the culture of donation,” and added, “We ask for the passionate and active support of Jeongeup citizens again this year.”
Mayor Yoo Jin-seop said, “Although everyone is facing difficulties due to COVID-19, please join us in creating a warm Jeongeup City without anyone being left out through the practice of sharing,” and added, “I hope that the warm hands gathered will help the Love Thermometer reach its highest point again this year.”
