Sebang Co., Ltd. Gwangyang Branch Delivers White Rice to Sarang Nanum Welfare Foundation

Hoping to Help Neighbors in Need... 55 Bags of 20kg White Rice Delivered

Jeonnam Gwangyang Branch (Branch Manager Heo In-cheol) announced that on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM, at the Golyak-dong Office, they donated 55 bags of white rice (20kg each), worth approximately 3.3 million KRW, to the Gwangyang City Love Sharing Welfare Foundation (Chairman Kim Jae-kyung) to help neighbors in need in the community as the year-end approached.

The donated items were designated and entrusted to the Golyak-dong Office and will be distributed to low-income and vulnerable groups through recommendations of beneficiaries.

At the donation ceremony, Seo Byung-joo, team leader of Sebang Co., Ltd. Gwangyang Branch, said, "The year-end is approaching, and during this difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, our employees wanted to contribute a little strength to overcome this together." He added, "We hope that the donated white rice will be well delivered to neighbors facing hardships so that they can feel the warmth of Sebang Co., Ltd. employees and have a warm year-end and New Year through the rice."

Kim Jeom-hyun, Secretary General of the Gwangyang City Love Sharing Welfare Foundation, said, "We sincerely thank Sebang Co., Ltd. Gwangyang Branch and the sponsors who supported us by providing the most needed white rice during the ongoing COVID-19 situation." He added, "Sebang Co., Ltd. Gwangyang Branch's various welfare promotion projects will be a great comfort to citizens experiencing difficulties amid the COVID-19 situation."

Meanwhile, Sebang Co., Ltd. has been conducting a voluntary fundraising activity called the ‘Sebang Flea Market’ annually for about 16 years since 2004. Through this, they have raised a total of 2.3 billion KRW up to last year.

The funds raised continue to support neighbors in need and local children's centers. Additionally, the Sebang Lee Eui-soon Foundation, a social welfare corporation established in 2007 by Sebang Group founder Honorary Chairman Lee Eui-soon, carries out various support projects such as scholarships for low-income children, daily necessities support for elderly living alone, delivery of coal briquettes of love, and emergency medical support.
