[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced his pledge for "Digital Transformation Growth" on the 23rd. On the morning of the same day, Lee held a press conference at the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, where he unveiled a pledge that includes ▲establishing three major physical infrastructures for digital transformation ▲rapid establishment of institutional foundations ▲expansion of human resources and knowledge infrastructure. Along with this, Lee also stated that he would formulate strategies to support the digital transformation of traditional industries to enhance growth potential and to guarantee digital sovereignty.

This is the first official pledge announced at the level of the campaign headquarters. Previously, Lee had been entrusted with full authority over the campaign headquarters and had promised to promptly implement reform measures. It is expected that he will strengthen his command by assigning incumbent lawmakers to run in their constituencies and appointing key aides and staff. The outline of the reformed campaign headquarters is expected to be revealed within this week.

On the morning of the same day, Yoon held a video conference with key party officials of the Seoul City Party and urged them to work hard for election victory. In the afternoon, he will have lunch with intra-party primary candidates at a restaurant in Yeouido. Former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong, former Board of Audit and Inspection Chairman Choi Jae-hyung, lawmakers Park Jin and Ha Tae-kyung, former lawmaker Jang Sung-min, former Incheon Mayor Ahn Sang-soo, former Gimhae-eul Party Committee Chairman Jang Ki-pyo, and former Army General Park Chan-joo are expected to attend. They had declared their support for Yoon on the 19th. However, lawmakers Hong Joon-pyo and former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min, who competed in the main primary, have uncertain attendance at the lunch.
