Moon 5-Year Evaluation "Why Did Progressive Governments Fail?" New Book by Political Commentator Lee Jong-hoon

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Political commentator Lee Jong-hoon (Chief Consultant of Political Management Consulting) will publish "Why Did the Progressive Government Fail Again," an evaluation of the five years of the Moon Jae-in administration, on the 1st of next month.

In this book, the commentator defines the five years of the Moon Jae-in administration as a history of self-denial by the progressive forces.

He cites seven major bad precedents as representative examples: ▲The unprecedented disciplinary action against the Prosecutor General in constitutional history ▲The unprecedented impeachment of judges in constitutional history ▲The unprecedented creation of proportional satellite parties in constitutional history ▲The forced appointment of ministers with the highest number of corruption suspicions in history ▲The illegal revision of party rules and the nomination of the Seoul mayor candidate ▲The fastest increase in national debt in history ▲The largest exemption from preliminary feasibility studies in history.

Additionally, although the administration claimed to be a "job president" and promoted income-led growth focused on redistribution, regular youth employment actually decreased; real estate prices surged at an unprecedented scale, creating a large number of sudden impoverished people; the progressive camp’s duplicity was revealed by producing the highest number of Me Too movement perpetrators in history; and it generated power-type corruption scandals including interference in the Ulsan mayoral election, as well as obstructed investigations under the pretext of prosecutorial reform, all of which are diagnosed as self-denial.

In particular, the commentator criticizes the selection of former Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung as the next presidential candidate as the ultimate self-denial of the five years of the Moon Jae-in administration.

He points out the irony that despite the Daejang-dong development scandal providing astronomical illicit profits to speculative forces, which would constitute a serious crime by progressive standards, it did not affect the primary election results.

Ultimately, he analyzes that President Moon Jae-in and the pro-Moon faction reached a Faustian situation where they formed a strategic alliance with a presidential candidate who seriously damaged the value of fairness in order to protect vested interests and cover up bad precedents of self-denial.

Accordingly, he evaluates that although the administration aimed for the unfinished reforms that the Roh Moo-hyun administration failed to achieve, it ended in failure.

The commentator also raises concerns about evaluating administrations based on presidential approval ratings from past opinion polls, suggesting instead the need to establish evaluation indicators based on the realization of constitutional values.
