[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 23rd that it will implement the 'Comprehensive Winter Natural Disaster Safety Management Plan' until March next year to minimize residents' inconvenience and human and property damage during the winter season.
Accordingly, starting from the 29th, a dedicated civil-government-military natural disaster response task force consisting of 33 members, including KT Gwangju Branch, Korea Electric Power Corporation Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, and Marine Energy, will be activated.
The task force will respond promptly to various disasters such as situation dissemination, rescue operations, and facility restoration.
In addition, the Buk-gu Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will operate continuously, focusing on disaster situation management by reorganizing the natural disaster standard action manual and disaster management resources.
Along with this, a comprehensive cold wave countermeasure situation room involving related organizations such as the Buk-gu Office Market Industry Division, Welfare Policy Division, Northeast Waterworks Office of the Waterworks Headquarters, and Korea Gas Safety Corporation will prepare damage prevention measures for crops, agricultural and livestock facilities, and vulnerable residential groups.
Furthermore, eco-friendly deicing agents, sand, and other deicing materials and equipment will be reorganized, and 104 main and secondary road routes and 16 habitual freezing and slopes will be designated as priority deicing work sections to prepare for heavy snowfall.
District Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "Preparation is the most important thing for disaster prevention," and added, "We will work closely with disaster management related organizations to ensure the safety of residents and minimize disaster damage."
