[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED) will hold the 'START-UP NEXTCON' investment attraction IR on the 24th at TIPS Town S1 in Seoul.
START-UP NEXTCON is an investment attraction and networking event hosted by KISED, designed to support startups' growth to the next stage and their leap to becoming unicorn companies.
The 8th IR event was held online due to COVID-19 prevention measures, but the 9th event will be held primarily offline in accordance with the phased return to normal life (With Corona).
The participating companies in the IR are 12 finalists selected from 19 companies that passed the preliminary round, all of which are participating in KISED's startup commercialization support projects, including the ▲Baby Unicorn 200 nurturing program ▲Non-face-to-face startup nurturing project ▲Materials, Parts, and Equipment (SoBuJang) Startup 100 project.
Notably, the 12 startups that advanced to the final round are innovative companies in the healthcare and materials, parts, and equipment sectors, and even before the IR event, they have attracted strong interest from over 70 professional investment firms such as securities companies and asset management firms. After the IR pitching, one-on-one networking between investors and participating companies will take place through company-specific booths.
So far, a total of six IR events have been held, with 12 out of 93 participating startups successfully securing Series A (6 companies) and Series B (6 companies) investments. The 10th IR event, which will be the last of this year, is scheduled for the 10th of next month.
Kim Yong-moon, President of KISED, stated, "We will spare no support for innovative startups seeking investment attraction for scale-up and global expansion," adding, "Through networking between excellent domestic startup planners and global top-tier startup planners, we plan to create a platform for the development of the startup ecosystem."
