The Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Director Hwang Yoon-kyung) announced that it will hold the ‘2021 U-Connect TriAnglE Demo Day’ on the afternoon of the 26th of this month to showcase the excellent technologies and potential of innovative startups.
This event will feature a total of nine outstanding companies, with three companies selected from each institution including the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund and Korea Airports Corporation, and will be conducted through the eFriend Metaverse platform.
The three companies participating as outstanding companies from the Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation were selected from among 43 companies chosen by the 2021 Re-Challenge Success Package Seoul Center. After one-on-one matching consultations with actual investment reviewers, the three final selected companies are ▲ Cara Company (CEO Kim Ki-ppeum) with ‘OnKids,’ a child-exclusive video-based live SNS service for playing and learning together in a safe online space, ▲ Dukan Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Jung-yeop) with an integrated modular construction system that enables shortening of manufacturing and assembly processes, and ▲ SmallBigClass Co., Ltd. (CEO Cho Seung-woo) with ‘SmallBigClass,’ an edutainment content OTT platform for toddlers and elementary students.
Manager Kim Yeon-ju of the Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation stated, "This demo day was planned in collaboration with the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund and Korea Airports Corporation to help the selected companies scale up." She added, "We will continue to strive to support the successful leap and spread of the re-challenge culture among companies with potential capabilities."
Meanwhile, the Re-Challenge Success Package is a program that supports prospective re-entrepreneurs who have closed their businesses and are re-challenging, or re-entrepreneurs within three years, by providing up to 60 million KRW in commercialization funds, re-entrepreneurship education, and customized programs. The Seoul Center for Creative Economy and Innovation has been selected as the lead institution for four consecutive years since 2018 to support re-entrepreneurship companies.
