Ministry of Science and ICT to Host ICT Device Industry Festival on the 24th

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 22nd that it will hold the 'ICT Device Industry Festival,' a celebration for companies related to the ICT device industry, on the 24th.

This year's event is organized as a comprehensive event focusing on three industries: network, computing, and 3D printing, to explore the future of the ICT device industry and discuss development directions. It will be held non-face-to-face using metaverse (extended virtual world) technology.

The main theme of the event is "The Future of the Digital New Deal, Led by the ICT Device Industry." The detailed programs include ▲Opening Ceremony, ▲Keynote Speech, ▲Exhibition, and ▲Conference, covering topics such as trends in network automation technology, HPC (High-Performance Computing) global technology trends, and manufacturing process innovation based on 3D printing.

In the keynote speech, Jang Byung-tak, Director of the AI Research Institute at Seoul National University, will present the latest global trends and directions of the ICT industry under the theme "ICT Industry Trends and New Business Opportunities."

The exhibition consists of a total of 29 booths divided into sections by network, computing, and 3D printing industries. Through the metaverse, participating companies can provide promotional videos, brochures, and introduction pages, as well as real-time video consultations between company representatives and booth visitors. It will be used as a new business opportunity for excellent small and medium-sized enterprises.

At the conference, experts from industry, academia, and research will examine the ICT device market and technology development prospects from various perspectives, including network technology quantum encryption technology application cases, ARM servers as an alternative to domestic servers, and metal 3D printing simulation technology.

Ryu Jae-myung, Director of the Information and Communication Industry Policy Division at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "We will maximize the ripple effects on the ICT device industry and related industries by taking advantage of the Digital New Deal, which the government has been actively promoting since last year," adding, "We will take the lead in creating an opportunity for the ICT industry to sustain growth."
