[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] GC Green Cross announced on the 18th that its Ochang Plant received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award at the 20th Korea Safety Awards. The award ceremony was held the previous day at the Korea Press Center.
The Ochang Plant, located in Ochang-eup, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk, is Asia's largest facility producing cutting-edge biopharmaceuticals, with a site area of 131,959㎡ and a building area of 37,909㎡, equipped with production lines, various laboratories, and an integrated logistics center.
Green Cross has implemented safety, health, and environmental management systems (ISO 14001 & 45001), Process Safety Management (PSM), SHE IT SYSTEM, and chemical substance management systems at the Ochang Plant. Additionally, it established state-of-the-art fire and disaster prevention systems, including an integrated disaster prevention center with AI and IoT-based monitoring systems for high-risk tasks. Due to its high safety investment performance and voluntary safety prevention activities, the plant received high evaluations and was awarded this prize.
Im Seung-ho, head of production at Green Cross, said, “This award is the result of all employees working together to create a safe and healthy Ochang Plant,” adding, “We will continue to invest and pursue qualitative growth to create a workplace that prioritizes the values of safety, health, and environment.”
