K-DATA, Recruitment of Data Voucher Supply Companies for the First Half of 2022

Applications Open for Sales and Processing Companies Until December 21

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency (K-DATA) announced on the 18th that it will recruit supply companies for the first half of the 2022 Data Voucher Support Project, which supports data utilization for small and medium-sized enterprises, until the 21st of next month.

The Data Voucher Support Project provides support for data purchase or processing costs necessary for data utilization targeting small and medium-sized enterprises, small business owners, and prospective entrepreneurs. The project, which started in 2019, aims to revitalize data transactions and create a data-driven innovation ecosystem.

Supply companies are divided into two categories: sales companies that possess high value-added data in various sectors, and processing companies that provide processing services tailored to the usage purposes of demand companies.

Large enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, government, local governments, public institutions, schools, and research institutes capable of selling or processing data can apply. Each company and sector must submit documents and a business execution plan when applying as a supply company.

Supply companies designated in the first half of this year will have their qualifications expire next year, so they must reapply this time to participate in the 2022 Data Voucher Project.

The evaluation consists of two stages: eligibility review and designation evaluation. It is a non-competitive qualification screening method applying a failure system for each evaluation area, and companies scoring 60 points or more in the final score will be designated as supply companies. However, if the score in any area is below 40%, the application will be rejected.

Interested companies can apply through the Data Voucher Project Management System. Detailed information can be obtained through the Data Voucher Support Project Customer Center or one-on-one inquiries via the Data Voucher Project Management System.

Yoon Hye-jung, Director of K-DATA, stated, “Data voucher supply companies are a core group providing data and processing services to the domestic data market,” and added, “We will actively support the processing and utilization of high-quality data.”
