[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Department of AI Convergence Engineering at Gyeongsang National University Graduate School announced on the 17th that it held a joint academic conference in the software field in a hybrid format, both online and offline, at the BNIT R&D Center, together with the Department of Information and Computer Engineering at Pusan National University and the Department of Computer Science at Kyungpook National University.


This joint academic conference, prepared by 14 professors from software-related departments of the three national flagship universities in the Yeongnam region, was conducted to share best practices among regional universities in software education and research and to promote active communication and exchange.


Professor Jeong Soon-gi of Kyungpook National University presented the achievements of the Intelligent Convergence Software Education and Research Group operation, Professor Yoo Young-hwan of Pusan National University reported on software education performance through the Southeast Region 4th Industrial Revolution Leader Training Project Group, and Professor Lee Seon-ah of Gyeongsang National University presented the operation results of the AI Convergence Talent Education and Research Group for industrial intelligence in Gyeongsangnam-do.


During the open discussion session, led by Professor Lee Seong-jin of Gyeongsang National University, a heated debate continued regarding research and education systems for sustainable growth and development.


The three universities’ professors shared years of experience, cases, and opinions on practical and realistic issues currently faced by software departments, such as how software-related departments can recruit and select excellent students, the current status of attracting foreign students which has become more prominent due to recent internationalization issues, and how software education should balance theory and practice.
