[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Sewon ENC's Game Business Division is launching a global multiplatform game development project utilizing the domestic representative fantasy novel IP, 'Dragon Raja.'
On the 15th, Sewon ENC announced that it signed a joint game development business contract with Aprogen Visionary using the 'Dragon Raja' IP.
'Dragon Raja,' which sparked a fantasy novel craze after being serialized on PC communication networks in 1997, is a popular IP proven successful through games developed on various platforms such as PC and mobile. Games including ▲Dragon Raja Online ▲Dragon Raja M ▲Dragon Raja 2 have been developed and serviced, and this year, the mobile games 'Dragon Raja Origin' and 'Dragon Raja EX' were officially released.
A Sewon ENC official stated, "'Dragon Raja' is the representative novel of fantasy author Lee Young-ha, and many games utilizing this IP have been released, proving its popularity among game users as well. We plan to closely collaborate with Aprogen Visionary to develop a high-quality global multiplatform game."
The first game from the Game Business Division, the fantasy RPG 'Changgong Arena,' is currently undergoing localization work ahead of its domestic market launch. Closed Beta Testing (CBT) will begin in mid-December, and the plan is to collect various user feedback and suggestions to further enhance the game's completeness.
A Sewon ENC official added, "Starting with the official release of 'Changgong Arena,' our strategy is to continuously secure the game lineup for the game division. We are currently negotiating the details of the PC MMORPG licensing contract scheduled for release next year, and internally progressing an 'NFT project' related to the development of a global metaverse game serviced based on an NFT payment system."
