TVING Introduces High-Definition Video Technology and Playback Quality Management

[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] Domestic online video service (OTT) TVING announced on the 15th that it will introduce next-generation image quality technology HDR10+ and playback quality management system (QoS) services.

HDR10+ is a high-definition video technology that optimizes brightness and contrast to achieve accurate color representation. It features dynamic metadata that automatically sets image information for each scene, maintaining consistent video quality even when scenes change.

The streaming QoS solution, a playback quality management system, collects and analyzes data on streaming playback and visualizes it on a dashboard, allowing the quality of the service to be quantified. It can collect and analyze various events occurring during streaming playback by multiple users in real time, enabling monitoring based on the analyzed data. This also allows real-time processing of large volumes of data as well as storing and analyzing individual playback data.

As a result, TVING can analyze users' network environments to optimize content bitrate and upgrade streaming quality levels, providing better service to subscribers.

TVING’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Seongcheol Jo, head of service development, said, “TVING’s top priority is to provide stable streaming services with optimal image quality across diverse user environments. Through the introduction of HDR10+ and QoS services, we will further optimize the environment for TVING’s unique original content experience.”

Meanwhile, TVING was spun off from CJ ENM as an independent corporation last October and has been focusing its capabilities on securing original content and advancing technology.
