[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Coupang Branch of the National Public Transport Workers' Union and the Coupang Logistics Center Branch held a rally to demand improvements in labor conditions from Coupang.

On the 13th, about 100 people gathered in front of Coupang headquarters and criticized Coupang for not properly accepting even the basic three labor rights.

The Airport and Port Transport Headquarters Coupang Branch stated, "Due to the company's failure to control volume, workers are working without even break times," and urged, "Please stop the excessive labor exceeding 52 hours per week."

They added, "Rocket delivery, which risks the lives of Coupang workers, must be stopped," and insisted that paid rest time and industrial accident treatment be guaranteed in case of various accidents.

The Coupang Logistics Center Branch said, "We are people, not rockets," and requested, "Allow workers to choose overtime work, secure sufficient paid break time during working hours, and provide proper rest areas." They also demanded conversion to regular employment after two years of service and a basic wage increase.

Through their resolution, they stated, "We reject Coupang's innovation that squeezes workers as raw materials for rocket delivery by pushing them into extreme labor and unstable employment forms, and we will create true innovation that respects workers and prioritizes worker safety."
