[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] NCSoft recently disciplined six employees involved in workplace harassment controversies, including sexual harassment.
On the 12th, NCSoft announced that the six employees received suspensions ranging from 1 to 6 months. Four employees identified as direct perpetrators were also banned from serving as department heads for more than three years.
The controversy began last month when employee A reported an internal sexual harassment incident at NCSoft. A detailed list of allegations included: deliberately making female subordinates work late overtime and giving them rides home in the reporter's car; touching their heads or the back of their necks; attempting to have drinking gatherings with female employees; spreading rumors about inappropriate relationships with higher-ranking officials; and inducing one-on-one meals under the pretext of meetings.
NCSoft started an investigation immediately after receiving the report. An NCSoft official stated, "NCSoft has a zero-tolerance policy toward issues that harm organizational culture," and added, "The final disciplinary measures were determined based on clearly confirmed facts."
