Jeonnam Province Holds 'Youth Leaders Communication and Empathy Conference'


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province held a 'Youth Leader Communication and Empathy Conference' on the 11th at the Jeonnam Youth Future Foundation Performance Hall to have a time of communication.


The event was attended by about 300 local youth leaders, including Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok, Jeonnam Provincial Council Chairman Kim Han-jong, members of youth leader-related organizations such as the Jeonnam Youth Training Facility Association, the Korea Youth Counseling Support Association, and the Jeonnam Youth Leader Association.


The event began with pre-events such as a Taekwondo demonstration team performance, followed by commendations for exemplary youth leaders, keynote lectures, and a youth leader fellowship session.


Ten people, including Kim Kyung-hee, director of the Mipyeong Youth Culture House in Yeosu, received commendations as youth leaders.


Governor Kim said, "I appreciate the dedication of leaders to nurturing the dreams and hopes of youth," and added, "I will pay attention to improving the working environment and treatment of leaders so that youth leaders who strive for the bright growth of the region's future youth can work with pride and fulfillment."


He continued, "The role of youth leaders is more important than ever to heal the psychological anxiety of youth caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," and urged, "Please work hard for the sound growth of Jeonnam youth."


Youth leaders encompass all leaders engaged in youth development and guidance work at youth counseling centers, youth facilities, and youth-related institutions. In Jeonnam, 466 youth leaders are active in 146 youth-related facilities.
