[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] "Life is really boring and dull. Is there any way to live it more enjoyably?"

This is part of a concern posted 14 years ago by a male high school sophomore on Naver's Q&A service 'Jisik-in'. At that time, a female high school senior responded, and recently, 14 years later, the two, now in their 30s, have resumed their conversation, drawing attention.

On July 4, 2007, a post titled "How to live life enjoyably" was uploaded on Jisik-in.

User A started, "I'm a male high school sophomore. Life is really boring and dull." He continued, "My friends seem to be having fun, but for some reason, I can't. I don't have anything to focus on, and I feel pathetic because I don't even know what I should do, why I live, or what I want to do." He asked for advice, saying, "Is there any way to live life enjoyably? I want to change my life to be fun."

Two days later, on July 6, 2007, user B, introducing herself as a female high school senior, left a lengthy reply to A.

B said, "I also tried all sorts of things to enjoy life, but there really isn't anything truly fun," adding, "Finding fun in life is like searching for gold in the trash."

She continued, "I even studied hard to improve my rank by 100 places, but that was only fun for a moment. Having a boyfriend was fun for a while, but after breaking up, the emptiness grew. In sophomore year, life was so boring that I didn't make friends and went to school lost in thought. It was more boredom than fun. That's life, I guess."

She advised, "To feel fun, take a walk between 8 and 10 p.m. in a nearby park wearing comfortable clothes like sportswear and listen to music on an MP3 player. It feels good. But there should be many people around." She added, "Having friends is fun, but they're all mediocre. But never study just to have fun, and don't spend time watching TV."

She also said, "If life is boring and lonely, just enjoy it as it is. Make one truly necessary friend and discard the rest. If you want to have fun with friends, always smile." She concluded, "Enjoy solitude. I think nothing is more fun than enjoying solitude. If you feel lonely, send me a note. I can't make you happy, but I can help you vent."

Fourteen years later, on the 7th, author A accepted B's answer. A expressed gratitude, saying, "Sorry. I just saw this for the first time since posting the question. Thank you for the answer. It's still a good answer." Along with this, A sent 10,000 Naver points as a thank-you gift.

The next day, on the 8th, B said, "It's been 14 years since I last saw you, questioner. I had stopped using Jisik-in since my teens, but I was surprised to receive 10,000 points today." She added, "Being able to send 10,000 points to a stranger as a coffee treat must mean you have some leeway now, right?"

She continued, "Now in our 30s, has life become a bit more fun? Or do you feel tired from different factors than when you were a teenager?" She encouraged, "Whatever life you live, your choices as the main character of that life will always be heading in the right direction."

Finally, she said, "Both you and I will have many dull times ahead, but let's look back on this day and laugh it off happily. I support your 30s and your future life."

Currently, comments from netizens watching their heartwarming reunion continue under this post. Some netizens share their wishes, while others respond with comments like "I feel comforted. Thank you," "I was also wondering how to live enjoyably. It feels like my heart is being purified," "Is this the fun of life? It's pure romance," and "I got emotional."
