Sewon ENC Establishes Subsidiary 'Space Sewon'..."Launching New Korean-Style Satellite Rocket Business"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Sewon ENC announced on the 10th that it has established a subsidiary, Space Sewon (SPACE SEWON), to promote a new satellite rocket business.

The main business objectives of the newly established subsidiary Space Sewon are ▲development and manufacturing of low Earth orbit satellite systems ▲development and sales of satellite system services ▲manufacturing of spacecraft and satellite components ▲production of aerospace products and parts such as rocket propulsion devices.

Space Sewon plans to actively promote the satellite rocket business based on the high technology of space launch vehicle pneumatic and hydraulic equipment owned by its parent company Sewon ENC. Last month, Sewon ENC successfully designed, manufactured, and operated pneumatic and hydraulic equipment for the Korean launch vehicle Nuriho development project, including the erector (equipment that stands the launch vehicle vertically), transfer device, fixing device, and access platform system.

Space Sewon will develop an ultra-lightweight rocket to transport artificial satellites weighing about 300kg in low Earth orbit or sun-synchronous orbit. The ultra-lightweight rocket is characterized by significantly reducing production costs compared to existing satellite rockets and enabling customized production for each customer.

Sewon ENC plans to actively expand the Korean next-generation satellite rocket new business by collaborating with domestic and international companies that possess global technology in satellite rocket manufacturing, along with its subsidiary Space Sewon.
