[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] University students have stepped up as instructors teaching drone piloting skills to the elderly.

On the 9th, Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group announced that on the 6th, they conducted a drone experience education program in collaboration with Gijang County at the Jukseong Dream Set in Gijang County, Busan.

The education was conducted through collaboration with the ‘DSU Community Creative Convergence’ and the 2021 Community Win-Win Cooperation Support Project Evergreen Project program called ‘Evergreen Agency.’

Students from the Convergence Department participating in the DSU Community Creative Convergence program provided a 3-hour training session to senior actors aged 65 and older from the Gijang area, affiliated with Evergreen Agency, covering ▲drone and flight theory ▲drone flight practice ▲practical drone applications.

The students carefully selected education topics needed by the community, established lesson plans, conducted demonstrations, and carried out various experiential classes multiple times with thorough preparation.

In connection with Evergreen Film University, a training school for Evergreen senior actors, the program offers one-stop support from education and care to job opportunities to help seniors realize their dreams of becoming actors.

Kim Hyung-woo, Director of the Regional Cooperation Center, stated, “We will continue to strive to strengthen the win-win cooperation network between Gijang County and the university and to create a platform where more diverse education can take place.”

Professor Yoon Chang-won, the program manager, said, “To expand the creative convergence base in the field of the 4th Industrial Revolution with the local community, improve students’ understanding of the community and creative abilities, and establish a foundation for symbiotic cooperation between the region and the university, we will expand the target areas to include 16 districts of Busan and regions in Gyeongsangnam-do.”

The DSU Community Creative Convergence program plays a role in promoting and spreading understanding and practical use of the 4th Industrial Revolution in the local community.

Additionally, it plans to operate customized experiential education programs tailored to local demand in cooperation with local institutions to become an excellent community program in the field of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
