At the arcade of the Seoul Shilla Hotel, paintings "Myobeop No.071218" and "Myobeop No.111020" by painter Park Seo-bo are on display.
"Stay at the Shilla Hotel and experience Art-Tech as well."
The Seoul Shilla Hotel has launched a room package that combines 'Art-Tech' (a blend of art and financial investment). It is a package that allows guests to enjoy a hotel stay while owning joint shares of artworks valued at around 400 million KRW.
On the 8th, the Seoul Shilla Hotel partnered with Art & Guide, a joint art trading platform, to introduce the 'Fall in Art' package. Available throughout November, the Seoul Shilla Hotel 'Fall in Art' package is divided into two options: 'Fall in Art 1,' which includes joint ownership (50,000 KRW) of Park Seo-bo’s artwork 'Myobeop No.071218,' and 'Fall in Art 2,' which includes joint ownership (50,000 KRW) of 'Myobeop No.111020.' Both packages include one 'Myobeop' artwork plate, access to the gym, and indoor swimming pool. The current prices of the artworks are approximately 400 million KRW and 450 million KRW, respectively.
Customers using the package receive a unique number (random code) upon check-in, register as members on the Art & Guide website, and thereby obtain joint ownership rights. When the artwork’s price reaches a certain level in the future, Art & Guide will resell the artwork with the consent of the joint owners and distribute the profits accordingly.
The hotel stated, "Park’s artworks have achieved a high average auction success rate of 75%, gaining recognition not only in Korea but also in the global art market. Even beginners in Art-Tech can relatively safely experience art investment." Park Seo-bo, known as the 'Pioneer of Monochrome Painting' and 'Artist of Healing,' is a representative figure who introduced Korean contemporary art to the world. He recently received the Geumgwan Cultural Medal, the highest honor in the cultural and artistic fields.
During the sales period of the ‘Fall in Art’ package, the two artworks will be exhibited in the hotel’s basement arcade, providing guests with an opportunity to experience and share the artworks. Customers using the ‘Fall in Art’ package will also receive a plate featuring Park Seo-bo’s ‘Myobeop’ artwork as a merchandise gift.
