[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gachon University held the 'Proud Gachon Person Award' ceremony on the 3rd at the Gachon Hall Faculty Meeting Room.
At the ceremony, Gachon University President Lee Gil-yeo presented certificates and scholarships of 1 million won each to 10 awardees.
The Gachon Person Award is given to students who have enhanced the university's prestige through outstanding thesis publications, international contests, and international competition awards, based on the university's educational philosophy of philanthropy, service, and patriotism. It was established in 2013.
Student Song Young-min (Design Major, Year 2), who received an award that day, produced the independent film "Two Worlds" (art director) and won four awards at the internationally recognized LA Creation International Film Festival in the U.S. (Best Film Award, Best Comedy Award, Best Actress Award, Best Ensemble Casting Award), four awards at the Five Continents International Film Festival, and the Best Indie Filmmaker Award at the LA Prestigious International Film Festival.
Students Lee Tae-rim (Design Major, Year 4) and Jung Hyun-kyung (Design, Year 3) achieved excellent results in various competitions, winning the Grand Prize at the 1st Public Design National Idea Contest hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Excellence Award at the 2nd 'Oral Health Supporters' contest hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, respectively.
Additionally, Gachon University selected the following students as Proud Gachon Persons for publishing papers as first authors in SCI-level (SCIE) journals: ▲ Kim Dong-hyun (Medicine, Year 2) ▲ Yoo Sun-hye (Medicine, Year 4) ▲ Joo Sung-wook (Radiological Science, Year 4) ▲ Lim Joon (Radiological Science, Year 4) ▲ Dong Gyu-ri (Life Sciences, Year 4) ▲ Kim So-mi (Electronic Engineering, Year 4) ▲ Lee Soo-bin (Electronic Engineering, Year 4).
President Lee Gil-yeo of Gachon University said, "I am very proud that our students are achieving remarkable results not only domestically but also on the global stage," and encouraged them, "Please continue to be protagonists on the global stage through vigorous challenges."
