[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] Lawyer Kang Yong-seok, who was indicted on charges of instigating false accusations against famous blogger 'Dodommam' Kim Mina, denied the charges in court.
On the 3rd, at the first trial on the charge of instigating false accusations held under the presiding judge Yang Eun-sang of Criminal Division 18 at the Seoul Central District Court, Lawyer Kang stated, "I deny the facts of the indictment."
Lawyer Kang was brought to trial on charges of urging 'Dodommam' Kim to file a rape and injury accusation against Mr. A, a head of a certain securities company, in 2015.
The prosecution believes that Lawyer Kang knew that Mr. A did not molest Kim but instigated the false accusation to extort a settlement and thus brought him to trial.
On this day, Lawyer Kang's defense attorney argued, "There is no principal offender in the case, only an instigator, but how can there be an instigator without a principal offender?" claiming that the charges themselves do not hold.
When the prosecution said that Kim was not booked, Lawyer Kang's side responded, "In that case, we have no choice but to accuse Kim."
