[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Ryu Hojung, a Justice Party lawmaker who previously wore a purple dress revealing her back and performed a 'tattoo performance,' announced that she will hold a tattoo experience event in front of the National Assembly this time.

On the 2nd, Ryu posted on Facebook, "We will conduct a tattoo open beta service tomorrow (the 3rd)" and added, "It will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the benches in front of the main gate of the National Assembly Members' Office Building."

Ryu said, "We will perform tattoos right in the heart of the legislature. I will give tattoos on your body like the one on my back," and added, "This is offered to all citizens who have any reason to pass through the National Assembly grounds, including lawmakers, aides, National Assembly officials, reporters covering the National Assembly, and visiting institutions and businesspeople."

However, Ryu clarified, "Of course, these are not real tattoos but stickers," explaining, "Because our law slanders by saying 'your work is illegal,' professional tattoo artists will be waiting with decal stickers instead of needles."

She continued, "It has already been five months since the press conference titled 'Tattoo is a person's appearance.' Many things have happened, but tattoos are still illegal," and pointed out, "There have been public opinion polls and investigative reports, but the National Assembly still hesitates to submit the bill."

Earlier, in June, Ryu proposed the 'Tattoo Industry Act,' which legalizes tattooing. The bill includes provisions allowing qualified tattoo artists to perform tattoos at registered establishments. Currently, tattooing is defined as a medical procedure, so tattooing by non-medical personnel is illegal.

On June 16, Ryu attracted attention by performing a tattoo industry legalization protest wearing a back-revealing dress on the lawn in front of the National Assembly main building.
