[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Naivek, a peptide fusion bio-specialized company, announced on the 2nd that it has published a research paper related to bio tissue regeneration in the SCI international journal Biomaterials.
Biomaterials is the top journal in the field of biomaterials engineering, known worldwide as an authoritative journal with a high citation rate in academia and industry, recording an impact factor (IF) of 12.479.
This paper is significant as it is the first to discover early screening factors for cellular senescence and diseases that cause degenerative disorders.
The title of the paper is “Study on the Promotion of GRP78 Translocation to the Cell Surface in Tonsil-Derived Stem Cells Incorporated in ROS-Releasing Hydrogel and Induction of Bone Regeneration and Musculoskeletal Function Recovery.” The research was jointly conducted through industry-academic cooperation by Naivek, Chungbuk National University, Ewha Womans University, Ajou University, and Seoul National University.
A Naivek official stated, “We have discovered peptides that can act on early screening factors causing cellular senescence and degenerative diseases, and by fusing them with the drug delivery system NIPEP-TPP, it is expected to be widely used not only for early diagnosis but also for prevention and treatment of diseases. The biomarkers discovered through this research can also be applied to the diagnosis and treatment of degenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s and dementia.”
He added, “This is significant as it opens a path to prevent major geriatric diseases amid the increasing need for prevention and treatment of degenerative diseases due to aging.”
The company explained that through this research result, the synergy effect of the drug delivery platform ‘NIPEP-TPP’ delivery system and proteins can contribute to the development of new drugs for the prevention of major diseases in the future.
