[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, signed a business agreement related to the operation of the Video Theme Park Hotel together with Hapcheon Tourism Development and Hotel Lotte at the Hapcheon-gun Office small conference room on the 1st.
Hapcheon-gun and Hapcheon Tourism Development are investing a total project cost of 40 billion KRW to build a hotel with 200 rooms on the 5th floor within Hapcheon Video Theme Park, including a restaurant, lounge bar, and community room, aiming for completion by the end of 2023.
The county has established a foundation for the successful operation of the Video Theme Park Hotel by selecting Hotel Lotte, which possesses global management capabilities and operational know-how, as the operator for the hotel's successful management.
Until now, although the county has excellent natural scenery and outstanding tourism resources, it was difficult to promote "stay tourism" due to a lack of connection with the lodging industry. With this agreement, synergy effects are expected to be maximized through the linkage of various film and drama shootings, festivals, and Hwangmaesan Mountain and Hapcheon Lake, and it is also anticipated to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy and creating jobs.
County Governor Moon Jun-hee said, "Through this agreement, with Hotel Lotte selected as the operator, Hapcheon tourism will take a leap forward," and added, "We expect an increase in tourism demand and a rise in the value of the Hapcheon tourism brand."
