[New Release] 'Muryongwang, From Myth to History'

◆King Muryeong, from Myth to History = A biography of King Muryeong composed based on Korean, Chinese, and Japanese historical records and archaeological research. Moving away from previous studies that focused solely on birth legends, it fills the gaps in history through rational inference. The story of King Muryeong, which had remained in the realm of myth, is given a future-oriented value in Baekje culture so that it can firmly establish itself as a significant part of history.

"Connecting King Muryeong as the son of King Gaero not only resolves this issue but also links to the lineage of the Hanseong period. This is the best way to secure the legitimacy and authenticity of King Muryeong's accession. Moreover, since King Muryeong ascended the throne after King Dongseong was assassinated, he also gains the additional effect of securing the support of the nobles who came down from Hanseong and backed his enthronement.
