Seongdong 4th Industrial Revolution Experience Center Celebrates 4th Anniversary with e-Festival Using Metaverse from Nov 6-12... Showcasing Diverse and New Festival Featuring Future Technology Experiences, Special Lectures, and Art Gallery on Next-Gen Platform Metaverse
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) will hold the "2021 Seongdong 4th Industrial Revolution e-Festival" for seven days from November 6 to 12.
Recently, the term Metaverse, a compound of "Meta" meaning virtual and "Universe" meaning world, has emerged as a new trend in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and rapidly risen as the next-generation platform. Accordingly, this festival has been prepared to enable various experiences through the Metaverse.
Participants can use their avatars within the Metaverse space set up on the homepage to engage in various activities similar to the real world, such as special lectures, future technology experiences, career mentoring, and video viewing.
On the 6th, a special lecture on the 4th Industrial Revolution will be held, inviting Professor Kim Sang-gyun from Kangwon National University, a Metaverse expert, to deliver a lecture titled "Metaverse Digital Earth, the World of Rising Things."
Following this, the "Smart Inclusive City 4.0 Youth Researcher Project" competition will be held, where youths directly identify urban issues such as transportation, environment, and welfare, and present the outcomes of Seongdong-gu’s unique future talent development project that seeks solutions using 4th Industrial Revolution technologies.
Within the Metaverse experience space, future technology experiences such as creating a personal "playground," making a personal "entrance song" using AI tools, and "masterpiece drawing" through coding will be conducted in real-time via the platform (ZOOM). During the event period, "online mentoring" by future career experts in AI bio and 4th Industrial Revolution fields will also be provided, and related videos will be posted within the Metaverse space to help youths choose future careers in the 4th Industrial Revolution era.
Especially this year, to encourage participation from a wide range of demographics, various events will be offered on the homepage. Participants can enjoy treasure hunt O/X quizzes and nostalgic arcade games through the Metaverse platform. Those who participate and leave certification shots or reviews will be entered into a draw to receive 3D printed products and laser-cut models made directly at the 4th Industrial Revolution Experience Center.
Special lectures and real-time experiences through the Metaverse can be participated in by pre-registering on the Seongdong 4th Industrial Revolution Experience Center homepage, and online participation is open to anyone without limit via the Seongdong-gu Office YouTube channel.
Opened nationwide for the first time in 2017, the "Seongdong 4th Industrial Revolution Experience Center" has made nurturing future talents equipped with convergent problem-solving skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration its main policy. It is a specialized educational institution preparing proactively for the 4th Industrial Revolution era led by artificial intelligence, robotics, and biotechnology, now marking its fourth year since opening.
Offering future technology experience programs for a wide range of age groups from toddlers to seniors, it has been recognized for the distinctiveness and professionalism of its curriculum and was selected for two consecutive years as a base institution for startup experience centers designated by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education last year.
