Baesangmun "Jumped to joint 37th~"... Pendris 'Two-day leader'

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] It is the determined effort of Bae Sang-moon (35, Kiwoom Securities, photo).

On the 31st (Korean time), at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda (par 71, 6,828 yards), the third day of the 6th event of the 2021/2022 PGA Tour season, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (total prize money $6.5 million), he shot 3 under par to rise to a tie for 37th place (5 under par 208). Taylor Pendrith (Canada) continued to lead for the second consecutive day (17 under par 196), and Danny Lee (New Zealand) is chasing in second place (14 under par 199).

Bae Sang-moon started from a tie for 46th place, 9 strokes behind, and combined 5 birdies and 1 double bogey. He suffered a critical double bogey after struggling in the rough on the 1st hole (par 4). However, he changed the momentum by making 'three pairs of stepping-stone birdies' on the 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th holes. He also added a birdie on the 17th hole (par 5), promising a good final day. It is encouraging that he laid the foundation for a comeback in his first stage of the new season after finishing 69th at the Barbasol Championship last August.

Pendrith shot 7 under par to maintain his position at the top of the leaderboard. His driving distance average of 304.5 yards and a greens in regulation rate of 77.78% are the driving forces. Danny Lee also reduced 6 strokes, chasing the leader by 3 strokes. Lucas Herbert (Australia) is in 3rd place (13 under par 200), and Patrick Rodgers and Vincent Whaley (both USA) are tied for 4th place (12 under par 201). Patrick Reed (USA) is tied for 17th place (8 under par 205), and Noh Seung-yeol (30, Zivent) is tied for 43rd place (4 under par 209).
